ABU DHABI // A man caught with illegal pills in his car claimed they could be his father’s, the criminal court heard on Sunday.
Police found the painkiller Tramadol as well as other pills only permitted by prescription inside a sunglasses case in the back of the car.
The man had a valid prescription for Tramadol, but not the other medicine.
“Those were not mine, only the Tramadol,” he told the court.
The judge asked why the other pills were in the vehicle.
“The car is my father’s and many people borrow his car and use it. It could be anyone else’s,” he said.
A verdict will be announced on December 25.
