Khalifa foundation to distribute thousands of meals globally during Ramadan

ABU DHABI // Thousands of hot meals and packaged food will be distributed to the disadvantaged during Ramadan thanks to the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The foundation has been working on final preparations to deliver the aid to 600,000 people in more than 62 countries around the world as part of its 2015 International Iftar Project.

The Iftar Project is in its eighth year and officials have begun coordinating with various UAE embassies abroad to cooperate on its implementation.

A foundation spokesman said: “The project aims to achieve social solidarity between Muslims. The foundation’s efforts have been expanding every year since its inception in 2007 and it seeks to improve its humanitarian work through cooperation with its strategic partners, global organisations and institutions.”

The foundation is also providing nearly two million iftar meals, to be distributed throughout the holy month in 105 different places in the UAE.
