A man who parked in front of Dubai Police headquarters and started smoking hashish has been sentenced to four years in jail.
Emirati MA, 23, confessed at the Dubai Criminal Court to possessing and consuming drugs in the car park of the police station on September 8 last year but he denied driving while under the influence of them.
“I was parked when they arrested me. I was not driving,” the defendant said.
He was acquitted of the driving charge.
“We searched him and his car,” said police colonel AH, 39.
“We found hashish hidden inside his sunglasses box and some drug tablets too.”
