UAE reports 2,080 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths

The UAE reported 2,080 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday.

It also confirmed a further 1,793 recoveries and two more fatalities.

The new cases were detected from 212,779 tests.

The tally in the Emirates on Saturday stood at:

Cases: 508,925

Recoveries: 490,457

Deaths: 1,569

In other developments, the UAE was due to halt all flights from India at midnight after a huge surge there in recent weeks.

India has recorded the world’s biggest one-day jump in coronavirus infections for the second consecutive day, with 332,730 new cases and 2,263 deaths in the past 24 hours.
