The UAE reported 20 deaths from Covid-19 on Friday afternoon, its highest daily total yet.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention also confirmed 3,140 new cases and 4,349 recoveries.

The new figures bring the total number of confirmed cases to 365,017 with 1,093 deaths and 351,715 recoveries.

This was the ninth consecutive day that recoveries exceeded new cases across the country.

Almost 29 million tests have taken place since the pandemic began and more than 5.2 million vaccines have been distributed since the campaign to inoculate people against the virus began in December.
