DUBAI // Entries have opened for the sixth annual ice warrior challenge.

This year’s obstacle race, to be held at Ski Dubai on October 2, will raise funds for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.

Participants will race in temperatures of -4°C across the 15 obstacles including a cargo net crawl, zorb maze, monkey bar swings, tyre course and black ski run climb, all custom designed for the event.

“It’s so much fun just because of its novelty factor,” said Chris Marsden, an fitness fan from the UK who has participated in two events.

“Obstacle courses are always challenging and fun but this has the novelty of being subzero in one of the hottest places in the world.”

The challenge is open to groups or individuals of all fitness levels, aged 16 and above, and will cost Dh250 per entry. Registration is through premieronline.com.

There are gym memberships, dinner and spa vouchers up for grabs and all participants receive goody bags while individual winners, one male and one female, will receive a three-night Italian hotel break.

Ski Dubai is also bringing back its Snowrobics class. The twice weekly classes resume on September 6.
