A private hospital dedicated to comprehensive oncology care will open in Dubai next year.
MBF Healthcare Group has partnered with two of the healthcare providers in India and the UK to manage the hospital in Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai.
HCG International, a specialist cancer care company that operates hospitals in India and Kenya, will manage human resources for the hospital.
The agreement — that outlined a long-term action plan for the management and operation of the hospital — was signed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qasimi, owner and chairman of MBF Healthcare Group, and Annette Kitor, director HCG International.
"We are aiming to transform the cancer treatment hospitals into day-care hospitals so patients will receive treatment within a day, leave the hospital and then follow up with the doctor's treatment afterwards," said Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal.
He said the Dh180-million hospital will have 45 beds and reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for specialised cancer treatment.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal said the group intends to establish three or four more specialised hospitals in the UAE to treat various types of cancer within the coming years.
