The Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported 513 new cases of the novel coronavirus, raising the country’s total to 41,499.
Around 44,000 tests were carried out, the ministry said, adding that one person had died after contracting the virus.
The UAE’s death toll from the pandemic now stands at 287, but recoveries continued to outstrip new infections on Friday.
The ministry said 712 more people had recovered from the virus, for a total of 25,946.
The health authorities have repeatedly stressed the need to follow precautionary measures to contain the spread of the virus.
These include wearing face masks at all times in public places and maintaining social distancing.
Young children and those over 60 years are still barred from shopping malls, despite them now operating at full capacity.
Globally, coronavirus cases exceeded 7.5 million on Friday, with more than 3.5 million recoveries and more than 420,00 deaths.
