The UAE recorded 536 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the country's total to 10,349.
A further five people died after contracting the virus as the death toll increased to 76.
Officials confirmed 91 more people made full recoveries, pushing the number of people to have beaten the virus to 1,978.
The UAE carried out 35,000 tests as part of its extensive efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19.
More than one million tests have been conducted across the Emirates since the outbreak began.
On Saturday, Abdulrahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, said the UAE would continue its robust approach to testing to identify new cases as quickly as possible and prevent the spread of the virus.
“Increased Covid-19 testing helps us be proactive in identifying cases, particularly those who are asymptomatic,” he said.
“It is natural that the increase in screening is accompanied by an increase in the number of new cases.
“This is an indication that we are on the right path to reduce the spread of the virus.”
Dr Alawi Al Sheikh-Ali, spokesman for the Emirates Scientists Council, said the UAE was conducting dozens of studies to help understand the virus and how it spreads.
He said samples were taken from more than 240 local patients from a variety of age groups and during various stages of their recovery to understand how different strains of the virus determined their symptoms.
This information will help medics protect those most at risk, he said.
The global virus death toll passed 200,000 on Saturday night, with more than 50,000 of those deaths in the US.

Where to buy art books in the UAE
There are a number of speciality art bookshops in the UAE.
In Dubai, The Lighthouse at Dubai Design District has a wonderfully curated selection of art and design books. Alserkal Avenue runs a pop-up shop at their A4 space, and host the art-book fair Fully Booked during Art Week in March. The Third Line, also in Alserkal Avenue, has a strong book-publishing arm and sells copies at its gallery. Kinokuniya, at Dubai Mall, has some good offerings within its broad selection, and you never know what you will find at the House of Prose in Jumeirah. Finally, all of Gulf Photo Plus’s photo books are available for sale at their show.
In Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi has a beautiful selection of catalogues and art books, and Magrudy’s – across the Emirates, but particularly at their NYU Abu Dhabi site – has a great selection in art, fiction and cultural theory.
In Sharjah, the Sharjah Art Museum sells catalogues and art books at its museum shop, and the Sharjah Art Foundation has a bookshop that offers reads on art, theory and cultural history.
