The UAE reported 1,763 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday after carrying out 189,946 further tests.
This brought the country’s total to 570,836, while another 1,740 people beat the virus, taking the total recoveries to 550,525,
The daily cases in the Emirates rose to 2,236 on Friday – the highest daily figure since April 1 – but fell to 1,812 on Saturday and 1,810 on Sunday.
The death toll reached 1,680, after three people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours.
There are 18,631 active cases of coronavirus in the country.
So far, 12,811,422 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the UAE, which has the highest vaccination rate in the world.
Meanwhile, the UAE on Sunday urged all smokers and tobacco users to quit and avoid serious health complications from Covid-19.
In Dubai, dozens of stores were fined for flouting Covid-19 safety rules.
Inspectors from Dubai Economy issued 56 fines to retailers in malls and markets, mostly for breaches related to face masks and social distancing.
Overall, 32 stores in shopping malls were found guilty of breaching social-distancing and face masks norms, while 20 restaurants and cafes were penalised for providing dine-in services after permitted hours.

How to get exposure to gold
Although you can buy gold easily on the Dubai markets, the problem with buying physical bars, coins or jewellery is that you then have storage, security and insurance issues.
A far easier option is to invest in a low-cost exchange traded fund (ETF) that invests in the precious metal instead, for example, ETFS Physical Gold (PHAU) and iShares Physical Gold (SGLN) both track physical gold. The VanEck Vectors Gold Miners ETF invests directly in mining companies.
Alternatively, BlackRock Gold & General seeks to achieve long-term capital growth primarily through an actively managed portfolio of gold mining, commodity and precious-metal related shares. Its largest portfolio holdings include gold miners Newcrest Mining, Barrick Gold Corp, Agnico Eagle Mines and the NewMont Goldcorp.
Brave investors could take on the added risk of buying individual gold mining stocks, many of which have performed wonderfully well lately.
