The UAE reported a record number of Covid-19 cases for a sixth day as 3,453 infections were confirmed on Sunday.
The latest daily figures brought the number of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 253,261.
A further 3,268 people overcame the virus as the recovery tally climbed to 225,374.
Five patients died, raising the toll in the Emirates to 745.
An additional 162,251 tests were carried out during the reporting period.
The UAE has conducted more than 23.4 million tests since the outbreak began.
The number of active cases in the country now stands at 27,142, as new infections exceed recoveries.
Infection rates have been on the rise since the turn of the year.
Case numbers surpassed 2,000 for the first time on January 6 and have remained above 3,000 since January 12.
Officials have reported 45,439 Covid-19 cases so far this month, at an average of 2,672 per day.
The country has embarked on a major vaccination drive in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that 84,852 vaccine doses had been administered across the country over the past 24 hours.
The latest doses brought the total number to 1,882,778. This equates to a vaccination distribution rate of 19.04 doses per 100 people.
The Sinopharm vaccine was approved for nationwide use on December 9.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was rolled out in Dubai two weeks later.

Electoral College Victory
Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
