UAE authorities reminded people that anyone caught organising private tutoring sessions in their homes will face a Dh30,000 fine.

The Public Prosecution said the practice was in breach of rules designed to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Anyone caught organising lessons and those present face a Dh30,000 fine, while the host will be fined Dh20,000.

The message was posted on the prosecution's social media pages.

Meanwhile, a UAE health official said an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the UAE was expected.

On Tuesday, Dr Farida Al Hosani, a director of the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, said increases were being reported around the world as countries reopened while battling the virus.

She said the launch of a Covid-19 vaccine would be crucial to stemming the spread of the pathogen.

The UAE recorded 1,077 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday but recoveries have been increasing.
