The UAE's leaders congratulated King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Bahrain’s National Day.
On Wednesday, the country marks 49 years since its independence from the UK.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sent a congratulatory message to the people of Bahrain.
“We congratulate the people of Bahrain on the 49th National Day and the anniversary of my brother King Hamad assuming power. May God preserve their security and safety,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, also sent his wishes to the king and his people.
“I would like to congratulate my brother King Hamad bin Isa and the people of Bahrain. On this joyous day, we pray for the continued success and stability of your nation,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, also sent their wishes to King Hamad and the people of Bahrain.

British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who funded the expedition to find the Tutankhamun tomb, died in a Cairo hotel four months after the crypt was opened.
He had been in poor health for many years after a car crash, and a mosquito bite made worse by a shaving cut led to blood poisoning and pneumonia.
Reports at the time said Lord Carnarvon suffered from “pain as the inflammation affected the nasal passages and eyes”.
Decades later, scientists contended he had died of aspergillosis after inhaling spores of the fungus aspergillus in the tomb, which can lie dormant for months. The fact several others who entered were also found dead withiin a short time led to the myth of the curse.
