Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has offered his condolences to the Ruler of Sharjah on the loss of his son Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan.
Sheikh Mohammed visited the mourning majlis at Al Badee Palace on Thursday evening, where he expressed his condolences and sorrow to Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE state news agency Wam reported.
Also at the mourning majlis were Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, along with Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, and other sheikhs and mourners.
Sheikh Khalid died in London on Monday. He was 39. Sheikh Dr Sultan led his funeral prayers before laying Sheikh Khalid to rest at Jubail Cemetery in Sharjah on Wednesday.
The UAE is in a three-day period of mourning and flags flew at half-staff across the country on Wednesday.
