Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held a government meeting on Monday to hear about the UAE's latest efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus.
In the video conference, attended by ministers and government officials, Sheikh Mohamed was briefed on developments.
"I am reassured that the UAE is fully capable of managing this situation and sincerely thank all those involved in the fight against the virus," he later said on Twitter.
Sheikh Mohamed said officials at every level of government were following up on the latest Covid-19 updates "with interest and gratitude for the efforts of the people involved".
"We are honoured to serve all people that live in the UAE," he said.
"It gives us great pride to hear them singing the national anthem at such a challenging time. We will overcome this through solidarity."
The UAE announced that distance learning for schools and universities would continue until the end of the academic year.
On Monday, authorities announced 41 new cases of Covid-19, three recoveries and two deaths.
Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed held calls with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, and the Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa.
They discussed the ties between the UAE and their countries, and the social and economic repercussions of coronavirus.
