Followers of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, on social media platforms now exceed 3.7 million.
The Dubai Royal is well known for his enthusiasm in utilising social media as a way of interacting with the public.
Sheikh Hamdan has more than 1.6 million followers on Instagram, more than 1.1 million on Facebook and more than a million on Twitter, according to a statement released by Dubai Media Government.
On his pages, Sheikh Hamdan adopts a simple and spontaneous style that reflects the love and loyalty he carries for the country, its leadership and its people. He also uses social media to deliver messages and increase awareness about issues related to people’s lives and the social and humanitarian campaigns inside and outside the UAE, the statement said.
Sheikh Hamdan posts and tweets in Arabic and English.
The Crown Prince, however, still lags some way behind his father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who surpassed 6 million followers on his various social media accounts in August last year.
