Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, met his counterpart from Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Sheikh Abdullah and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke about the prospect of strengthening ties, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and health.
The pair also discussed ongoing co-operation to address the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to ensure equitable access to the vaccine.
Sheikh Abdullah congratulated Mr Qureshi on the completion of Pakistan’s pavilion for Expo 2020 and wished the country success in the event.
He also spoke about strong relations between the UAE and Pakistan, which he said were based on mutual trust and respect.
Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State, also attended the meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters.

Fourth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit
As he spoke, Mr Aboul Gheit repeatedly referred to the need to tackle issues affecting the welfare of people across the region both in terms of preventing conflict and in pushing development.
Lebanon is scheduled to host the fourth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in January that will see regional leaders gather to tackle the challenges facing the Middle East. The last such summit was held in 2013. Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki told The National that the Beirut Summit “will be an opportunity for Arab leaders to discuss solely economic and social issues, the conference will not focus on political concerns such as Palestine, Syria or Libya". Tips for used car buyers
- Choose cars with GCC specifications
- Get a service history for cars less than five years old
- Don’t go cheap on the inspection
- Check for oil leaks
- Do a Google search on the standard problems for your car model
- Do your due diligence. Get a transfer of ownership done at an official RTA centre
- Check the vehicle’s condition. You don’t want to buy a car that’s a good deal but ends up costing you Dh10,000 in repairs every month
- Validate warranty and service contracts with the relevant agency and and make sure they are valid when ownership is transferred
