Sharjah workshops to highlight need to take part in census

SHARJAH // Interactive workshops have been set up for students to highlight the importance of taking part in the ongoing Sharjah Census.

An awareness campaign have been launched targeting youngsters across the emirate by the Sharjah Census Committee to show the need to take part in the census, which began in October.

In February, Sharjah’s Ruler, Dr Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, issued a decree to conduct a general census of the population, infrastructure, housing and establishments in Sharjah with the aim of providing accurate and reliable statistical data on economic, social and demographic sectors in the emirate.

Around 1,800 researchers, observers and volunteers are working to collect the information.
