Sand Patrols were introduced at Liwa date festival to the public by Abu Dhabi Police.
The festival's visitors were briefed about the "sand patrols" at Abu Dhabi Police section, which is organized by Al Dhafra Police.
Police explained the technical specifications that enable the patrols to reach the most rugged places in the desert and provide services to the area residents, tourists and people joining safari tours, camping trips, and desert activities.
It also supports the relevant police departments in all difficult and rugged locations, equipped with advanced communication devices, navigation systems, locating detector, rescue devices.
The patrols can also speed up the process of responding to distress calls received by the operation departments.
