Over 200 activities in Abu Dhabi for Month of Reading

Over 200 activities will take place in the capital in March for the Month of Reading. This year’s focus is on human capital development.

The project, a resolution by the Cabinet to mark March as the annual month of reading, is a continuation of 2016’s Year of Reading, a project founded by the President, Sheikh Khalifa.

Last year’s Year of Reading aimed to consolidate the culture of reading and to better prepare future leaders and saw organisations and individuals around the country take part.

Rawdha Saeed Al Saadi, Director-General of the Office of the Executive Committee, and Abu Dhabi’s representative for implementing the reading law, said she hopes the reading month will continue the success of 2016, “which saw a quality shift in the concept of reading as it provided a reading atmosphere and boosted social awareness on the importance of reading”.
