More than 1,500 cybercrime cases reported to Dubai Police

The cybercrime department at Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Department received 1,549 reports in 2014.

They included 248 fraud cases, 163 information security cases, 389 extortion and libel cases, 235 website crimes and 514 miscellaneous cybercrimes.

More than 190 suspects have been arrested in relation to these cases. Police also dealt with 25 cases involving child pornography trafficking. The suspects, all expatriates, were arrested and deported.

The figures were revealed during a press conference on Thursday to announce the campaign International Safer Internet Day.

Already a two-time Grand Slam champion in the current season. Gramenius won golds in the 70kg, in both in Moscow and Tokyo, to earn a spot in the inaugural Queen of Mats.
