ABU DHABI // The Executive Council has given its approval for two major water and electricity projects.
A committee meeting, chaired by Mohammed Al Bowardi, approved improvements to distribution networks for more efficient supplies of high-quality water.
Generators will be installed to bring new power stations online in response to increasing needs as the emirate grows, and to enhance the existing electricity network.
The Executive Committee also approved two projects for internal roads and related infrastructure.
They include roadworks, parking, sanitation, stormwater drains, potable water, road lighting and pavements in parts of Al Ain.
Both projects fall within Al Ain Municipality’s plans to keep pace with urban growth using the highest standards, and efficiently serve the population and economic interests.
The projects will include 24 kilometres of internal roads, 41km of pavement and 4,271 parking spaces.
