A dozen government ministers will speak to young Emiratis about thriving in the post-pandemic world during an online session next week.

The Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations is set to return on March 14 .

It will be the third time the event has been held and this year it will be streamed online for the benefit of 3,000 Emirati students watching from home.

The theme is “Thriving in the Next Normal” and the event will bring together innovators, experts and the brightest minds from the UAE government and global businesses.

The session, organised by the Education Affairs Office at Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, aims to connect the nation’s youth with its leadership, ensuring all available resources are used to train young citizens so they can create a better future for themselves.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, will close the online event with a special message to young Emiratis.

Here's what's to come from the event.

1) Being future ready

In a world where some of today's top jobs didn't even exist five years ago, how can we prepare for the jobs of the future? Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, and Ali Matar, head of LinkedIn Emea, will endeavour to answer that question.

2) Mental health

How can we cope in a world that is constantly changing? Spikes in stress and anxiety amongst young people are most likely a result of the ongoing pandemic, Dr Laurie Santos, a psychology professor at Yale University, will give tips on improving your mental health.

3) Keeping an open mind

The benefits of having a curious mind and a flexible approach to life are endless, CNN's Becky Anderson and Dr Adam Grant from Wharton Business School will explain more.

4) Sustainability

We all want a future that's more sustainable and more inclusive. Minister of Community Development Hessa Buhumaid, Minister of State for Food and Water Security Mariam Al Mheiri and Masdar chief executive Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi will describe how we can work towards a nation that is greener, smarter and stronger.

5) UAE's place in global supply chain

Covid-19 disrupted supply chains across the world, and the UAE's logistics hub is set to help manage the global response to the pandemic, distributing the vaccine to those who need it. Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Adnoc Group chief executive, talks us through the set-up.

6) Driving job creation

Which industries are fuelling the future of jobs and will change the economic profile of the UAE? Minister of State for Governmental Development and Future Ohoud Al Roumi, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak, managing director and group chief executive of Mubadala Investment Company, will answer that question.

7) UAE economy

Plans are in motion to double the nation's economy to Dh3 trillion in the next 10 years. How can that be achieved? Abdulla bin Touq, Minister of Economy, will explain all.

8) Technology

From space exploration to driverless cars, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences and chairwoman of the UAE Space Agency, Sarah Al Amiri, is here to tell you how the UAE is continuing to push boundaries.

9) Creativity

From Instagram to TikTok and Snap Chat, creativity is a global market. Where are the future opportunities in this ever expanding landscape?

Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi and the head of Google arts and culture Amit Sood will let you in on the answer during a discussion with The National's Editor-in-Chief Mina Al-Oraibi.
