Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing saves three after boat crash

The Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing saved three workers after a cruiser crashed into a pier in Al Raha beach on Tuesday, leading to the death of the boat’s owner.

The operations room received communication at 9.30am reporting the crash, with nine workers on board. Helicopters, ambulances, rescue vehicles and a field hospital rushed to the scene.

Three workers who suffered medium to heavy injuries were airlifted to hospitals. The others were treated at the scene.

Brig Gen Ali Al Mazrouei, director of the air wing, reminded beach-goers to check weather conditions, inform authorities of their voyage plans, and carry safety equipment such as life jackets and GPS.
