Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to discuss the UAE's future plans.
The meeting dealt with several issues in the Emirates, most notably the phased return to normality across various state departments and institutions post pandemic, state news agency Wam said.
They also discussed the UAE Jubilee year's ‘Projects of the 50’, a series of developmental and economic initiatives to accelerate the its development as a global destination for talents and investors over the next half century.
UAE citizens will remain the focus of all developmental and social plans and programmes, news agency Wam reported.
"Today, during my meeting with my brother, Mohamed bin Zayed, in the capital Abu Dhabi, the discussion was about the projects and plans of the next 50," Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter.
"My brother Mohamed is our safety. My brother Mohamed is the treasure of the homeland and the support of the homeland. My brother Mohamed is the best of the sons of the Emirates for the future of the Emirates."
Sheikh Mohamed said the talks also focused on enhancing life in the UAE.
"I was pleased to meet with my brother, Mohammed bin Rashid, to discuss topics related to the UAE’s future," he said on Twitter.
"Our talks focused on ways to further enhance the standard of life for UAE society, strengthen our country’s competitiveness and reinforce its positive role in the world."
Also at the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, National Security Adviser, Sheikh Theyab bin Zayed, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, Special Affairs Advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
The UAE's 50 national projects were unveiled in September, marking a "new era of prosperity and development".
The initiative aims to boost economic growth. A fund of Dh5 billion ($1.36bn) will support Emirati initiatives in priority sectors and stimulate industry.
And a 10 x 10 programme aims to increase the UAE’s exports to 10 global markets by 10 per cent annually.

How will Gen Alpha invest?
Mark Chahwan, co-founder and chief executive of robo-advisory firm Sarwa, forecasts that Generation Alpha (born between 2010 and 2024) will start investing in their teenage years and therefore benefit from compound interest.
“Technology and education should be the main drivers to make this happen, whether it’s investing in a few clicks or their schools/parents stepping up their personal finance education skills,” he adds.
Mr Chahwan says younger generations have a higher capacity to take on risk, but for some their appetite can be more cautious because they are investing for the first time. “Schools still do not teach personal finance and stock market investing, so a lot of the learning journey can feel daunting and intimidating,” he says.
He advises millennials to not always start with an aggressive portfolio even if they can afford to take risks. “We always advise to work your way up to your risk capacity, that way you experience volatility and get used to it. Given the higher risk capacity for the younger generations, stocks are a favourite,” says Mr Chahwan.
Highlighting the role technology has played in encouraging millennials and Gen Z to invest, he says: “They were often excluded, but with lower account minimums ... a customer with $1,000 [Dh3,672] in their account has their money working for them just as hard as the portfolio of a high get-worth individual.”
