With the end of Ramadan approaching, Muslims should remember to continue their good deeds all year, says Friday's sermon.
"We are on the last Friday of Ramadan … so blessed are those who have seized this opportunity in increasing acts of worship by rightly observing fast, standing up for prayer at night, reciting the holy Quran, fairly treating people and renewing their faith," says the sermon.
Persistence is key.
The Quran says: "Indeed, those who have said, 'Our Lord is Allah' and then remained on a right course, the angels will descend upon them saying, 'Do not fear and do not grieve, but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised'."
Consistency protects one from sin. The sermon quotes Sufyan Ibn Abdullah Al Thaqafi as saying: "I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me something I will adhere to. He said: 'Say my Lord is Allah, then stand firm'."
The sermon also quotes the Prophet Mohammed: "The dearest act of worship in the sight of Allah was that whose perpetrator did regularly."
Worshipping in such a way, it says, recognises Allah's blessings and His generous bounties.
According to the Quran: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do."

Key figures in the life of the fort
Sheikh Dhiyab bin Isa (ruled 1761-1793) Built Qasr Al Hosn as a watchtower to guard over the only freshwater well on Abu Dhabi island.
Sheikh Shakhbut bin Dhiyab (ruled 1793-1816) Expanded the tower into a small fort and transferred his ruling place of residence from Liwa Oasis to the fort on the island.
Sheikh Tahnoon bin Shakhbut (ruled 1818-1833) Expanded Qasr Al Hosn further as Abu Dhabi grew from a small village of palm huts to a town of more than 5,000 inhabitants.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Shakhbut (ruled 1833-1845) Repaired and fortified the fort.
