ABU DHABI // Residents seeking to further their careers can visit a jobs fair at the Armed Forces Officers Club on Friday.
The Abu Dhabi chapter of Filipino Human Resources Practitioners’ Association, or Fil-HR, hoped to attract 5,000 jobseekers of various nationalities, said Lowel Dalisay, head of the jobs fair committee.
“We expect a large number of Filipinos on visit visas hoping to land jobs,” he said.
“My advice is for them to grab a job offer for the time being. Since the UAE labour law is more flexible now, they can jump ship after working for about a year.”
No recruitment fees will be charged. Twenty-four companies and recruitment agencies in the hospitality, restaurant and catering services, oil and gas, construction, health care, manufacturing, education and leisure sectors will attend.
Applicants will be asked to register and submit two copies of their CV, to be assessed by Fil-HR members who work as HR managers and will refer applicants to a specific industry.
The jobs fair, organised as part of the UAE Filipino Fun Day by Bayanihan UAE, an umbrella group of 50 organisations in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, will run from 8am to 3pm.
