Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, met Canada's governor general during a visit to Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Mary Simon to the Expo, ahead of her nation's country day celebrations at the world's fair on Saturday.
The Canadian pavilion is an impressive wooden structure inspired by the country's landscape.
It features an impressive 360-degree theatre experience celebrating the story of Canada.
Sheikh Mohammed said he was optimistic about ties with Canada following talks centred on culture, investment and investment.
He explored a number of pavilions while at the Dubai South site.
Sheikh Mohammed visited the Portuguese pavilion, which pays homage to its rich history of exploration, as well as focusing on its plans for the future with marine conservation and renewable energy high on the agenda.
He also visited the Philippines and Venezuela pavilions, while at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority pavilion viewed the ambitious energy plans for the years ahead.
“As part of my tour of Expo, I visited the pavilions of Venezuela, the Philippines and Portugal, in addition to the Dewa pavilion,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
“I saw their projects in clean energy and the green hydrogen project.
“I was drawn to a global competition launched by Dewa for universities to transform traditional homes into homes based on solar energy.”

What is a calorie?

Ziina has partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to raise money for the Lebanese capital, co-founder Faisal Toukan says. “As of October 1, the UNHCR has the first certified badge on Ziina and is automatically part of user's top friends' list during this campaign. Users can now donate any amount to the Beirut relief with two clicks. The money raised will go towards rebuilding houses for the families that were impacted by the explosion.”
