The Directorate General of Traffic executed an evacuation drill at the Fines Department building in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Defense, the Center of Ambulance Services Dubai and the Rescue Department at the Directorate General of Operations.
Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Directorate, was in charge of the drill along with his deputy Colonel Jamal Mohammed Al Bannai. “The evacuation drill consisted of fumes leaking from air conditioning vents inside the Fines Department whereas the alarm was sounded throughout the building to warn customers and employees alike of the need to evacuate the premises and head to the designated gathering points,” said Col. Al Mazrouei.
“The aim was to assess the readiness of the personnel to handle emergencies that require them to move fast, gather outside the building, report the incident in detail to the control room and make way to the rescue teams, in addition to training the rescue team and ensuring the efficiency of the equipment and machines in dealing with such situations,” he added.
A competent committee will assess the performance of the participating parties and measure their level of readiness, the response time as well as the preparedness of the contact and coordination channels between the different parties. All the indicators and reports will be carefully examined to make the most of the experience and the available potentials.
