UAE weather: Heat, humidity to rise over weekend with temperatures close to 50°C

Overcast and hazy conditions will continue through the weekend.

The heat and humidity levels will rise at night and during the morning, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

The cloud cover will increase over some eastern and southern areas, the centre said.

Moderate winds could cause dust to be blown across several areas over the next two days with the sea turning rough at times in the Oman Sea.

Temperatures will range from 27°C to 49°C in the interior regions, 28°C to 47°C along the coast, 26°C to 39°C in the mountains.

The maximum humidity will be 60 to 80 per cent across coastal regions, between 40 to 65 per cent in internal areas and 30 to 50 per cent in the mountains.

The highest temperature recorded in the country was 50.7°C in Mezaira on Wednesday afternoon and the lowest temperature recorded was 25.6°C in the Jais mountains.
