UAE weather: Dubai and Abu Dhabi set for hot and hazy Thursday

  • English
  • Arabic

Weather conditions in Dubai on Thursday will be mostly clear and sunny with a moderate breeze.

Temperatures are due to peak at 41°C shortly after midday, accompanied by gentle winds of up to 22kph.

The forecast for Abu Dhabi promises a similar day of clear skies and light breezes.

Temperatures are predicted to be slightly cooler, reaching 40°C in the afternoon, with lighter winds of around 18kph.

The National Centre of Meteorology is predicting fair conditions for the UAE in general, but said the winds could cause blowing sand and dust during the day.

The dust could reduce horizontal visibility, it said.

Night time temperatures could drop to around 35°C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the course of Thursday night and the early hours of Friday morning.

Tearful appearance

Chancellor Rachel Reeves set markets on edge as she appeared visibly distraught in parliament on Wednesday.

Legislative setbacks for the government have blown a new hole in the budgetary calculations at a time when the deficit is stubbornly large and the economy is struggling to grow.

She appeared with Keir Starmer on Thursday and the pair embraced, but he had failed to give her his backing as she cried a day earlier.

A spokesman said her upset demeanour was due to a personal matter.
