Food delivery firm Kibsons will resume operations next week after an industrial accident led to its main warehouse being shut down.
Customers can expect regular deliveries from Sunday, August 2, a representative said.
Tonnes of damaged food at its main warehouse in Dubai's International City went to waste after a forklift truck collided with a cooling-pipe on Sunday morning.
Fresh food and other items were damaged when stock was exposed to an airborne cooling agent.
“Our teams are busy assessing the extent of damage for reporting to relevant authorities as well as planning a deep sterilisation of the entire facility,” a spokeswoman said.
“We are also working closely with all our suppliers to and preparing our facilities to resume our operations on Sunday, August 2.
“Kibsons remain committed to providing the freshest quality and the highest standard for food and safety.
“The team at Kibsons would also like to thank their customers, suppliers and the wider community for their support, understanding and many good wishes at this time.”
Kibsons has been operating since 1980, delivering fresh, organic fruit and vegetables as well as other ready-to-eat items including bread, eggs and dairy produce across the UAE.

WHAT IS GRAPHENE?
It was discovered in 2004, when Russian-born Manchester scientists Andrei Geim and Kostya Novoselov were experimenting with sticky tape and graphite, the material used as lead in pencils.
Placing the tape on the graphite and peeling it, they managed to rip off thin flakes of carbon. In the beginning they got flakes consisting of many layers of graphene. But when they repeated the process many times, the flakes got thinner.
By separating the graphite fragments repeatedly, they managed to create flakes that were just one atom thick. Their experiment led to graphene being isolated for the very first time.
In 2010, Geim and Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics.
