ABU DHABI // The dust storms and high winds are expected to continue in some parts of the UAE on Monday and into Tuesday, say weather forecasters.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology again warned motorists to exercise caution on the roads, especially while driving in the inland areas of the country.
The wind speeds are expected to reach 38 kph, resulting in sandstorms. As a result, visibility on some roads could be as low as 500 metres. Rain is also expected in some parts of the country.
The centre said Monday would be hazy and partly cloudy over eastern areas, with a chance of heavy clouds in the afternoon.
There would be moderate to fresh winds, which could whip up some sand and dust.
Seafarers have also been warned to be careful, with rough conditions expected in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Temperatures in inland areas are expected to increase up to 48°C, 43°C in coastal areas and 36°C in the mountains. The humidity will range between 60 to 90 per cent.
The centre is forecasting similar weather conditions until Wednesday.
