Emiratis and Saudi citizens evacuated from areas affected by Hurricane Irma in Florida last week were welcomed at the UAE embassy in Washington on Tuesday.
The citizens and their families arrived in Washington on a special plane sent by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Emiratis on board were welcomed on the tarmac on Friday by the UAE's deputy chief of mission, Omar Al Shamsi.
On Tuesday the embassy held a lunch banquet for the Emiratis and nine Saudi citizens.

Entertainment programmes were organised and gifts distributed to the children.
Mr Al Shamsi welcomed the families on behalf of Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the US.
He said the decision to evacuate them from the hurricane-affected areas came from the orders of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, which reflects the extent of his care for their safety and security, reported state news agency Wam.
The embassy is hosting the citizens at a hotel in the Washington DC until conditions improve and normal life returns to the areas hit by the hurricane.
