A dedicated team of Emirati women doctors have delivered vital medical support to a UAE-funded refugee camp in Jordan.
The band of volunteers flew into the Mrajeeb al-Fhood Syrian refugee camp for a five-day visit this week to provide health and therapeutic services to patients receiving care in both the field hospital in Mafraq and the medical centre at the camp.
The medical delegation praised the efforts of camp leaders offering shelter and support to people in need and hailed the UAE's ongoing mission to be at the forefront of humanitarian projects.
Mohammed Salim Al Kaabi, deputy director of the camp, presented certificates of appreciation to the doctors at the end of their stay.
It is just the latest UAE aid drive to serve up renewed hope for refugees seeking sanctuary in Jordan.
Earlier this month, humanitarian organisation Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) relaunched its winter aid programme in Jordan and other parts of the region.
The ERC has allocated Dh15 million to provide warm clothes, blankets, heaters and foodstuff to 1 million Syrian refugees living in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Greece and other countries.
In Jordan, Dh4.8 million is being distributed to support 135,000 people – and it extended its aid beyond helping Syrian refugees to include Jordanian and Iraqi families too.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
