Emirati girl, 11, dies after falling down stairs in Sharjah

A Emirati girl died on Thursday after falling down the stairs at her family's house in Al Ghafelia area in Sharjah.

Sharjah Police received a report of the incident on Monday evening and an ambulance was dispatched to the location.

Reports suggest that the girl was playing with her siblings when she fell down the stairs and was unconscious.

The 11-year-old girl was rushed to Kuwait Hospital where she was treated for severe head injuries and internal bleeding.

Following a medical check-up, she had to be referred to Al Qassimi Hospital, where several tests and procedures were carried out in an attempt to save the child’s life, but she died of her injuries on Thursday.

The girl was buried after prayers were performed at Al Sahaba Mosque.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
