Employees at private schools in Dubai will be given free annual passes to Dubai Parks and Resorts as a thank-you for their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai's private education regulator, and Dubai Parks and Resorts set up the initiative as a gesture of appreciation.
“Over the past few months, teachers and school staff all over Dubai have shown great passion, resilience and commitment to high quality learning and the wellbeing of children, for which we are truly grateful," said Mouza Al Suwaidi, chief of engagement at KHDA.
“We hope these passes will give them many days of happiness with family and friends in a safe environment.”
The amusement park has health and safety procedures in place and guests must have temperature checks before they can visit.
Capacity for rides and at restaurants is limited to prevent people from gathering too closely.
To redeem the free pass, teachers and school staff must visit a guest services counter at Dubai Parks and Resorts before February 28.
They should present the unique code in the information letter provided by their school, along with a valid teacher identification, if applicable.
The complimentary annual pass will be valid until February 28, 2022.
Dubai Parks and Resorts have three amusement parks: MotionGate Dubai, Bollywood Parks, and Legoland Dubai.

Plovdiv is 150km from Sofia, with an hourly bus service taking around 2 hours and costing $16 (Dh58). The Rhodopes can be reached from Sofia in between 2-4hours.

Pharaoh's curse
British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who funded the expedition to find the Tutankhamun tomb, died in a Cairo hotel four months after the crypt was opened.
He had been in poor health for many years after a car crash, and a mosquito bite made worse by a shaving cut led to blood poisoning and pneumonia.
Reports at the time said Lord Carnarvon suffered from “pain as the inflammation affected the nasal passages and eyes”.
Decades later, scientists contended he had died of aspergillosis after inhaling spores of the fungus aspergillus in the tomb, which can lie dormant for months. The fact several others who entered were also found dead withiin a short time led to the myth of the curse.
