DUBAI // Police around the world want to learn how to do it the Dubai way.
Major Gen Khamis al Mazeina, deputy commander of Dubai Police, said "several countries" asked Interpol for details of the department's investigation into the assassination of Mahmoud al Mabhouh "so they can include it in their respective police academy curriculums".
Gen al Mazeina gave a lecture at Interpol's headquarters in Lyon, France, earlier this month.
During the lecture, which was held during the annual Conference of the Heads of National Central Bureaux, Dubai Police shared with Interpol countries the methods used to investigate the assassination of the senior Hamas official.
Al Mabhouh was murdered in a hotel in Dubai on January 19.
Dubai Police have accused Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, of being behind the murder. In an extraordinarily open investigation, Dubai Police made extended video footage of the assassination suspects available to the media and published the names and passport details of those deemed responsible.
The lecture shed light on the actions taken to identify the suspects, including details outlining the passports used by the suspects, DNA found at the scene, credit-card numbers and statements made by witnesses.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
