The RTA has extended the Dubai Metro's service hours into New Year's Day to allow thousands of New Year's Eve revellers to return home.
The metro will continue operating until 3am on January 1. That means that the final trains will depart from Ibn Battuta and Al Rashidiya stations at 2am, and the service hours of public buses, water buses, abras and water taxis will also be extended to finish by 3am.
"This change comes in response to the public desire to have the metro service hours extended during New Year's Day, which will be marked by a variety of activities, including the massive fireworks display at Burj Khalifa, which is set to attract thousands of visitors," said Adnan al Hamadi, the CEO of RTA Rail Agency.
Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
