The mothers of the soldiers that have died in recent conflicts have been thanked on Emirati Women's Day by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
In a text message sent to armed forces families, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said they have helped the country remain strong and proud.
He said their sons are national heroes.
"To our mothers, mothers of the martyrs .. with you, our homeland is strong and proud ... and by enriching the values of loyalty, sacrifice and giving in the sons of the homeland, we will continue the blessed march of good for a brighter future,” he said in the text message.
"We are all your children ... and you will stay the symbol of the homeland, rooted in the memory of generations. We are proud of you and the giving you continue to provide. May you always remain a of pride for our nation,” he added.

Two weeks ago, a UAE Armed Forces helicopter went down in Yemen, leaving four dead and three others injured, including Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the grandson of the UAE's first president, Sheikh Zayed.
More than 100 soldiers have died during operations and in operational accidents in Yemen since the UAE sent servicemen to Yemen two years ago, to restore the Yemeni government and defeat the Iran-backed Houthi militia group.
