A woman has been jailed for attacking a footballer in Dubai.

Dubai Criminal Court sentenced the Ugandan woman, 33, to two years in prison for attacking and robbing a Nigerian footballer, 26, on February 25.

“She attacked me and before I knew it, a number of other women joined in and assaulted me,” said the man.

The woman stole the man’s Dh2,500 gold necklace, his watch and Dh3,715.

“I was afraid and escaped but returned a few minutes later with a friend and found the woman was still there,” he said.

The other women had escaped by then.

The duo took the Ugandan woman to Naif Police station.

A medical report confirmed the physical assault. The woman will be deported after her jail term.
