Two Ajman-based Iraqi students on terrorism charges

Two Iraqi medical students in Ajman have been charged with supporting terrorist groups after sending several pens with concealed cameras to their homeland.

The students, both 18, said they had met a group of other Iraqis online and become friends.

Later the group had asked them to send the novelty pens, which they did out of friendship and without any criminal intentions, said their lawyers who attended a hearing yesterday at the State Security Court.

The hearing was private and no verdict or date for a future hearing was announced.
