A man is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy in a car after threatening to abuse him.
Dubai Criminal Court was told that the Syrian boy on received a call from the defendant on June 8 asking him to come to Dubai Mall to meet with friends there. It was not clear how the two knew each other.
When the boy arrived, the 29-year-old Emirati defendant said his friends cancelled their plans and they would not be coming. He then asked the boy to get into his Nissan Patrol car so that they could go for a drive, prosecutors said.
“I was with him in his car and he stopped in a dark and abandoned area in Al Warqa,” the boy told prosecutors.
He said the accused then asked for a massage, which he said he didn't know how to do it. The defendant then allegedly approached the boy and put the car seat back and started teaching him how to give a massage. He asked the boy to do the same to him, after which he sexually assaulted the boy, prosecutors said.
The boy said the Emirati told him that if he talked to anyone about what had happened, he would get his friends to do the same to him.
The defendant dropped the boy off at a metro station in Al Qusais and gave him Dh120 to get home.
The boy went home and told his mother what happened and she took him to Al Rashidiya police station and reported the incident.
The forensic report showed that there were no bruises or any evidence of violence or resistance by the boy.
The defendant didn’t show up in court so a new hearing was set for October 30.
