Dubai physiotherapist groped patient during treatment session, court hears

A Dubai physiotherapist kissed and groped a female patient during a treatment session, a court heard.

The health worker, 38, was massaging the woman’s shoulder when, she said, he slipped his hand under her clothing and touched her chest before kissing her.

She said she left the medical centre in Bur Dubai in shock.

“He was massaging my right shoulder and snuck his hand under my shirt,” said the woman, 45, from Canada.

“I then felt his face close to mine. He kissed me and groped my chest.”

The incident is said to have taken place on May 5 of this year.

She said she spoke to the man later in the day to confront him about his behaviour.

“He told me he couldn’t resist me and that he liked me,” the woman told prosecutors.

She reported the incident to police and provided officers with a text message from the accused in which he told her she was “beautiful”.

The Pakistani defendant denied a charge of sexual assault during a hearing at Dubai Criminal Court on Monday.

The case was adjourned until July 15.
