The Emirates Red Crescent has allocated Dh5 million to ensure access to remote learning for UAE children.
The donation will be used to provide laptops and tablets to support children who do not have the means to participate in remote learning.
Schools in the UAE shut their doors in mid March for the spring break and have remained closed to stem the spread of Covid-19.
The initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Minister of Education as part of the “Homeland of Humanity” campaign. Volunteers are teaching lessons through the ministry’s distance learning platform.

Dubai Cares launched a two-week fundraiser for its national 'Education, Uninterrupted' campaign on Wednesday. The scheme will provide computing devices to pupils who do not have the equipment to participate in remote learning.
Dubai Cares accepts donations from individuals and UAE-based public and private sector organisations. Donations can be made online here or by texting "donate" to 9030 to donate Dh30, to 9090 to donate Dh90, 9300 to donate Dh300, and 9900 to donate Dh900.
