Focal Point: Instant photos

There seems to be a lot of talk around at the moment as to whether Instagram is the future of photo journalism or the death of photography as we know it. Neither is the case as far as I'm concerned; it is, however, a wonderful tool for both amateur and professional alike. The ability to share your view of the world the very moment it unfolds before you should be grasped by all, be it a family snap or frontline war coverage.

Instagram will never replace well thought out and professionally produced photojournalism, but what it can do is help more people look at the world via the medium of photography.
