Back in November of last year we began to notice the incredible coverage by photographers in Syria, specifically Aleppo. We actually interviewed The Associated Press photographer Manu Brabo on his experiences covering the war and ran a collection of his images as a slideshow with the interview.
It comes as no surprise that some of the images we ran were actually part of the winning series that won the Pulitzer Prize.
Associated Press photographer Brabo along with Rodrigo Abd, Narciso Contreras, Khalil Hamra and Muhammed Muheisen were the five photojournalists that comprised The Associated Press team that won the Pulitzer Prize on April 15.
In this slideshow you will view the series of 20 images that won the Pulitzer Prize in breaking news photography that went to The AP team for their coverage of the war in Syria.
