Boutik Mall on Reem Island now fully reopened

The area had remained closed while the authorities completed their investigations at the crime scene where American teacher Ibolya Ryan was murdered on December 1.

The Boutik Mall on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island has now been fully reopened after the partial closure following the fatal stabbing of an American teacher on December 1.

Ibolya Ryan, 47, was stabbed to death inside the women’s toilets near the Waitrose supermarket this month.

The attacker, an Emirati women in her thirties, was arrested by Abu Dhabi Police two days later.

The area had remained closed while authorities completed their investigations at the crime scene.

Khidmah, the company that operates the mall, said in a statement on Thursday: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation during this difficult period.”

The rules on fostering in the UAE

A foster couple or family must:

  • be Muslim, Emirati and be residing in the UAE
  • not be younger than 25 years old
  • not have been convicted of offences or crimes involving moral turpitude
  • be free of infectious diseases or psychological and mental disorders
  • have the ability to support its members and the foster child financially
  • undertake to treat and raise the child in a proper manner and take care of his or her health and well-being
  • A single, divorced or widowed Muslim Emirati female, residing in the UAE may apply to foster a child if she is at least 30 years old and able to support the child financially
