SHARJAH / A man has been arrested after being caught selling pirated and X-rated DVDs.
Bangladeshi M H A was apprehended by CID officers after they received a tip he was selling the illegal DVDs around the emirate.
At the time of his arrest, M H A was carrying Dh6,500 and 2,227 DVDs. He was also found to be in violation of UAE residency law.
During interrogations, M H A confessed to selling the illegal DVDs. He has been referred to Sharjah Public Prosecution.
Sharjah Police said that they will continue to crackdown on illegal activities and copyright law violations and urged the public to report such activities to the authorities.
