WASHINGTON // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, conveyed his condolences and those of the President, Sheikh Khalifa, for the Boston bombings when he met Barack Obama in the White House yesterday at the beginning of a two-day visit to the United States.
"The UAE condemns this act of terror and stands by all countries of the world against all acts of terrorism, regardless of their sources or motives," Sheikh Mohammed said.
The two leaders highlighted the expanding ties between the US and the UAE, reflecting common strategic interests. The Crown Prince thanked Mr Obama for the United States's leadership in the region, including the president's efforts to advance peace, security, and opportunity in the Middle East.
The president and Crown Prince pledged to sustain expanding economic ties between the two nations, noting that the UAE remains the United States's largest export market in the Middle East and a significant investor in the US.
Mr Obama commended the UAE for hosting the successful Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Dubai last December, and both men highlighted the importance of fostering economic opportunity in the region, particularly for young people.
The two leaders also discussed regional challenges, including the need for Iran to meet its international nuclear obligations, the civil war in Syria and countering the threat of violent extremism.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
